The following article covers some common issues and troubleshooting for device pairing:
Gabb Watch
A few things to remember:
-The process for pairing your Gabb Watch is found here
The steps are: Download the MyGabb App on your parent smartphone and log in using your MyAccount credentials, turn on the Gabb Watch, scan the Watch QR code with your parent MyGabb App - be sure to scan the QR code on the Gabb Watch screen, not the small QR code sticker on the back of the Watch.
1. Issue: My Gabb Watch simply says "connecting to server" when I turn it on to pair and never gets to a QR code to scan.
Recommendation: This is most likely because your Gabb Watch is struggling to connect to the network! Just as a cell phone can have low service areas (low bars) - the same goes for your Watch! Turn the Watch off and move outside or to an area with excellent cell service/bars, turn the Watch on and try again! Your Gabb Watch should boot up to a QR code that you will scan with your parent MyGabb App.
2. Issue: I'm scanning my Watch's QR code with my parent MyGabb App but the Gabb Watch never gets a pairing code
Recommendation: Similar to the issue above, there is a chance your Gabb Watch is in a lower service area or struggling to have the connection necessary to receive the pairing code after being scanned! Turn the Watch off and move outside or to an area with excellent cell service/bars, turn watch on and try again! If your Gabb Watch still does not receive a pairing code after scanning it's QR code with the parent MyGabb App please reach out to customer support
Gabb Phone
A few things to remember:
-The process for pairing your Gabb Phone to your parent MyGabb App for GPS tracking is found here
The steps are: Download the parent MyGabb App on your parent smartphone and log in using your MyAccount credentials, turn on the Gabb Phone and open the MyGabb App on the Gabb Phone to access the QR code, scan the QR code with your parent MyGabb App (smart phone).
1. Issue: I can't see a QR code to scan when I open the MyGabb App on the Gabb Phone.
Recommendation: This is most likely due to the font size on the Gabb Phone! Go to your Gabb Phone settings and display and change the font size smaller and then open the Gabb Phone's MyGabb App again for the QR code.
2. Issue: I'm not getting a pairing code after I scan the Gabb Phone QR code with my parent MyGabb App.
Recommendation: This is most likely because your Gabb Phone is struggling to connect to the network! Turn the Gabb Phone off and move outside or to an area with excellent cell service/bars, turn the Gabb Phone on and try again! If your Gabb Phone still receives no pairing code after being scanned please reach out to customer support
3. Issue: After scanning the Gabb Phone QR code with my parent MyGabb App I get a message "Failed to get activation code"
Recommendation: This can be due to an old device not being unpaired in the parent MyGabb App! Attempt to unpair the old device and then attempt to pair the new device again! If you still get the error please reach out to customer support
